I am the President and Founder of the nonprofit organization Diversify Whitewater, an affiliate of American Whitewater.

The Mission of Diversify Whitewater (DW) is to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in paddlesports by removing the barriers that may exist for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and Allies in kayaking, canoeing, rafting, stand up paddling (SUP) by holding community paddling events.

Our paddling events are free to attend and open to everyone. We have held 40 events in 13 US states since we were founded in 2020, supporting over 1,000 participants. We strive to create a welcoming community for all of our participants to ensure no person or family feels like the "only one" -- our events foster feelings of belonging so that folks feel comfortable learning new skills, meeting new friends, and maybe trying something new.
